Stone Harbor is a small resort village situated on the southern portion of Seven Mile Beach, a barrier island near the southern tip of New Jersey.

We share our island with Avalon, our good neighbor to the north.   We are bound on the south by Hereford Inlet. Physically, Stone Harbor is a tiny town - just over two miles long... and just four blocks wide from west to east... from the private boat docks bordering the Intercoastal Waterway, to our beautiful public beaches of fine white sand that slope gently to the Atlantic Ocean.

Our sandcastles range from modest cottages to oceanfront mansions to every size and shape in between.  Stone Harbor is a premier resort on the South Jersey Shore. We are the vacation retreat to families who have loved Stone Harbor for generations.

Because of Stone Harbor’s historically tight grip on development through the zoning laws, we remain a small, quiet residential seashore town, a feat that many shore communities first accomplished, then lost through over-development.

Due to our high ratables and our conservative governing body, our property taxes are very low.  We have clean, safe streets.  Our quaint shopping district is a mix of familiar shore shops, trendy boutiques, fine restaurants and is so picturesque it reminds one local politician of 'Main Street' in Disney World.

Throughout the year, Stone Harbor is hometown to 900 families. In summer, our population swells with more than 25,000 vacationers who appreciate our family atmosphere, our wholesomeness... and our simplicity.

If you feel the need for more excitement than is custom in our little town, the South Jersey Shore has lots of things to do that are close by.  We are a pleasant 40-minute drive to the Atlantic City casinos, or a short 20-minute excursion to Victorian Cape May. The barrier island to our south has a big '50's style boardwalk with delightfully brash amusement piers and water parks, just 15 minutes away.

The lighthouses at nearby Cape May Point and North Wildwood are authentic and fun to climb.  Soak in the Cape's wealth of natural beauty.  Learn to bird-watch.  Cape May County is bird-watchers' paradise, as thousands of species of birds migrate down the eastern flyway to find resting habitat in Cape May County before braving the Delaware Bay crossing.  Or your crew can charter a boat for world-class ocean fishing.  Play golf at one of thirteen public and private golf courses within an hour’s drive.  Visit popular Cape May County attractions such as the acclaimed County Zoo or historic Cold Spring Village, or stroll the private gardens at Leamings Run.

Stone Harbor is fortunate in its close proximity to The Wetlands Institute, providing environmental education with an array of entertaining family activities - just over Stone Harbor's 96th Street bridge.

Enjoy all the delights that the South Jersey Shore has to offer, then come home to...
